The funniest movie ever made…
…is Airplane! On joke-count alone it kicks every other movie right in penis, and the jokes themselves are amazing. I’ve laughed at the drinking problem one for – I’m not kidding – years. And everything Lloyd Bridges says is pure gold.
It’s a movie that doesn’t get old on re-watching either, ‘cos there are bound to be gags you’ve missed.
And now it’s coming back to the big screen! Yes, in glorious technicolour, the Prince Charles Cinema is screening Airplane on 9th December, followed by – get this – a Q&A with the Zucker brothers. Surely an opportunity not to be missed (I won’t miss it. And don’t call me Shirley).
P.S. In Channel 4’s 50 Greatest Comedy Films, Airplane! was voted number two after Monty Python’s Life of Brian, which proves the Great British public are a bunch of idiots. They also voted Shaun of the Dead the third funniest film of all time: QED.
