Pensioner playgrounds
10Feb10
The march of play contines! Westminster Council today approved a new £40,000 ‘pensioners’ playground’ in Hyde Park. According to BBC News, the outdoor area will feature “fitness equipment designed specifically to provide gentle exercise for people over the age of 60,” and allow them to “continue active and healthy lifestyles in later years.”
Good news for everyone. Even better, even though the area will be signposted as the Hyde Park Senior Playground, “under-60s will not be banned”.
The new playground is scheduled to open in spring. I cannot applaud this enough.
