Got to do another quick post, as I’ve just come across this, which looks pretty cool: it’s a secret meet-up tomorrow from the Bristol-based artist Duncan Speakman.
So far details are sketchy, but basically you sign up on the site, download the MP3, turn up at the destination you’re sent to, and at the appropriate moment press play. Everyone’s got their own set of instructions, and at some point a narrative will emerge.
I don’t know much more about it, but from the testimonials below, it sounds like you get really caught up in the moment. As you can’t tell who are performers and who are fellow participants, you’re forced to reevaluate who’s who and what’s what. And you end up seeing the city in a new way, even after the event.
Annoyingly I can’t go, but if anyone’s heading down, could you drop us a line to say what it was like. It’s in London tomorrow, and then Bristol and Liverpool later in the week. I’m fascinated to find out more.
